In the late 90's I went home to spend the winter break with my parents. Without a part time job of any sort while home I was just another almost broke college student. With the money I had and the money I borrowed from my parents my mom and I set out to Kmart to look for Christmas gifts. I remembered seeing cute wine glasses one day with painted designs on them. I picked up a box of wine glasses then I told my mom that I would like to go to Jo-Ann Fabrics on the way home. The great thing about my mom is that she was always so supportive of my crafty habits. I would have one interest after another in the craft arena and she was always right behind me including me in trips to Jo-Ann's or other craft places. We picked up some enamels, got home, painted wine glasses and voila I had Christmas gifts to give. Some had polka dots, stripes, other designs that only consisted of red, white or blue paint. One lady I worked with said it was her favorite wine glass. I remember it. It was pretty simple with white polka dots all over. I wrapped it up in tulle and tied the top off with ribbon and crinkled paper.
The interest was sparked again when I helped paint a set of martini glasses with a group of friends as a 30th birthday gift for a friend of ours. We each had a glass to decorate. They were adorable and I enjoyed it. I started to dabble in it again a couple months later when someone asked me to make them for a family member as a gift for Christmas. The spark was ignited again and 5 months later I came up with a name and a domain. I enjoy making things for people and helping them smile.
I spend a lot of my time shopping, finding inspiration in little nooks and crannies, and clicking around social media. I grew up in a small town and believe that is where my creativity was born. When there's not much to do you make it up.
In 2002 I officially moved to Richmond, VA where I now live with my husband Michael.
